Next term, ELSA and MATHSBURST will become part of our Mathematics program. CE is providing financial support to enable our students to participate. ELSA (Early Learning STEM Australia) will be introduced into the Early Stage 1 (Kindergarten) mathematics program while MATHSBURST will be introduced into the Stage 2 and 3 mathematics program. The program will introduce the concepts of spatial structuring, mental rotations, spatial orientation and special visualisation (these are all concepts assessed by the NAPLAN assessment program). A STEM component will also be included in the program. Staff will be attending a Professional Learning Twilight tomorrow evening to train in delivering the program.
