Principal's Report
Dear Parents,
Welcome to Week 6 of Term 2. There is so much happening at St Patrick’s and so much to celebrate as well. Today we wish Taite Johnson and Charlie Hindmarsh all the very best as they head to Mt Stromlo to compete in the Archdiocesan Cross Country. We know the boys are excited to be representing St Patrick’s and the Western Region and we look forward to hearing the results of their effort today. We are also excited to announce that several St Patrick’s students have taken out awards at the annual Jugiong Writers Festival held over the weekend. Special congratulations are extended to Sophie Graham who was awarded First Place in the Primary School Poetry category as well as overall Champion Poem in the Catherine Bragg Poetry Competition. What a fantastic effort Sophie! Congratulations are also extended to Locky Eccleston and Tahlira Rose who were awarded Highly Commended in the poetry section as well. We are very proud of all our students on their entries and efforts.
Tell Them From Me (TTFM) is our new school survey platform that is being introduced across our Archdiocesan schools this year. The Tell Them From Me Parent Survey is anonymous, voluntary, and easy-to-use. It is based on a comprehensive questionnaire covering parents’ perceptions of their child’s experiences at home and at school. Insights into parent and staff communication, activities and practices at home, and parent voice on the school’s support of learning and behaviour all build an accurate and timely picture that schools can use for practical improvements. Please see the attached information for more details. The Survey Site is open from Monday 24th May until Friday 11th June. Parents are asked to please log onto tellthemfromme.com and use the code kqm83 to access the parent site.
Our school COMPASS portal is still in trial stages at the moment. Teachers are using the Student Attendance site to mark attendance each day and we are learning about the other sites that are available for use. We are aware that parents may be receiving Attendance Information notes requesting reasons for students being absent from school when they were representing the school at a sporting event. Please bear with us as we learn to navigate this site properly. In the event you receive this notification, please fill in the note with the school event your child represented at and return to school. We hope to rectify this issue shortly.
Please keep our students Year 3 in your prayers as they prepare to celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation for the first time tomorrow morning at 9.30am in St Patrick’s Church. A huge thank you to Mrs Howe and Mrs Reardon for preparing our students so beautifully for this special sacrament. Thank you also to parents for their wonderful support of their children in preparation as well.

Best wishes for a happy week ahead,
Christine Baron
