Dear St Patrick’s families,
It is hard to believe we are at the end of another school term. The first semester has certainly gone by very quickly. We are looking forward to our Parent/Teacher meetings, set down for this week.
PARENT/TEACHER MEETINGS: Week 10 is always a wonderful opportunity to welcome parents and carers into our school to meet with teachers and discuss your child’s first semester learning outcomes. Together with your child’s teacher, develop realistic learning goals for the last two terms. Please ensure you have booked a meeting time via the COMPASS portal.
WOOLWORTHS JUNIOR LANDCARE GRANT: St Patrick’s School were delighted to receive the news that the application for the Woolworths Junior Landcare Grant award was successful. Woolworths Assistant manager, Adam together with Cheryl Franklin, presented a cheque for $1,000 to our Year 6 Environmental Leaders at yesterday’s assembly. The application for the grant, focused on developing our new cultural area. Our Environmental Leaders, together with Mrs Hughes and our local Wiradjuri representatives, will focus on plans to develop our cultural space over the next two terms.
2024 Open Day: Please continue to encourage anyone who has a child ready for Kindergarten in 2024, to ring up and book a tour of our school. Our incoming Kindergarten enrolments will assist us in making important decisions regarding class structures for 2024. We look forward to showing new families around our beautiful school.
LITTLE LEARNERS: Our Little Learners program is on again in Term 3! This popular program has a fantastic variety of activities for children that are getting ready for school in 2024/2025. Little Learners is held from 9.30-11.00am every Friday, commencing on Friday 4 August. Please see the weekly themes listed below in the newsletter.
TERM 3 SCHOOL RETURN INFORMATION: Term 3 begins for students K-6 on Tuesday 18July. St Patrick’s staff will return on Monday 17 July. Please note that our front office will not be open until 11.30am that day as Mrs Fairall will be attending an information session from 9.00-11.30am.
Wishing all our hard-working students and staff, a well-earned rest over the holidays. Please take care on the roads if you are travelling away.

Principal
St Patrick, pray for us
Year 5/6
On Friday 23rd the children from Year 5/6 who will receive the Sacrament of Confirmation next term, began their Sacramental Preparation. The children were able to participate in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Father Joe spent time with each child hearing their Confession. This was a valuable first stage for the Confirmation Candidates, as they continue their faith journey.
St Vincent de Paul Winter Appeal
This is a timely reminder so that in the holidays, if you are going through your cupboards, you may put aside any suitable winter clothing, scarves, hats, gloves, blankets that could be donated to the ‘Winter Appeal’.
There are so many people who are struggling to make ends meet and need help. Our contributions could mean so much to another person.
All donations will be welcomely received and can be bought to school for our School celebration in Week 2 Term 3.

Anita Heiss Author Book Launch
Last Friday 23rd of June was the anniversary of the 1852 Gundagai flood. To mark this period in Gundagai's history and to honour our local Wiradjuri heroes, Yarri and Jackey Jackey, Australian author Anita Heiss travelled all the way from Queensland for a most special book launch. Year 3/4 and Year 6 walked to the Gundagai Library to be part of the launch. Anita was in Gundagai for the launch of her new adult fiction book Bila Yarrudhanggalangdhuray River of Dreams and also the accompanying children's book Bisho Galing. The children were treated to a reading of the picture book followed by question time. Most excited to be part of this special launch was the Year 6 literature, book club group of Abigail Bock, Charlotte McDonnell, Nate Tozer and Tessa Crowe who had recently finished reading one of Anita's novels "Race for Reconciliation" Thank You to Cindy at the Gundagai Library for organising an amazing experience for our students.

RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus)
We have been advised of reported cases of RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) in infant children and thought we would provide our families with a facts sheet from NSW Health outlining symptoms and how to treat it.
