Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to the 2019 school year! It has been lovely to see the staff and students returning with such happy smiles on their faces, ready to begin a new school year. Thank you for the lovely welcome I have had to St Patrick’s. I am very excited to be part of this lovely school and parish community.
Welcome back to all our lovely students! This year we have an enrolment of 76 students K-6, made up of 40 girls and 38 boys. A special welcome is extended to 3 new students-Reo Norden who has joined our Year 3 class as well as Charlie and Emma Brown who have both joined our Year K/1 class.
It was also very exciting to welcome our nine very eager new Kindergarten students last Wednesday. Welcome Indi Cole, Conor Cotterill, Jayden Crossley, Oliver Crowe, Eliza Graham, Lachlan Hargreaves, Molly Lott, Savannah Manns and Dale Paton. We are looking forward to sharing their learning journey here at St Patrick’s as they make new and exciting discoveries in the years ahead.
Reminder to parents that morning supervision begins at 8:40am. Students that arrive earlier are asked to sit down in the playground and must not play until a teacher is on duty.
NO HAT NO PLAY-all students are reminded that they need a hat for outside play and sport activities. Students who do not have a hat will be asked to sit in the shade.
Week 2 is gearing up to be a busy week with our annual Swimming Carnival set to take place this Thursday, followed by our Opening School Mass on Friday at 12 pm in St Patrick’s Church. Please feel free to bring your lunch and join us and the children afterwards at school.
Congratulations to all our SRC students who were voted in as Class Representatives last Friday. Together with the School Captains and Year 6 leaders, they will all be presented with their leader badges at Mass on Friday. Parents and family members welcome to attend.

A Prayer for the New School Year
Almighty God
As we begin this new school year, we ask for your blessing on all who work and learn here at St Patrick’s: Open our minds as we learn about the glory of your creation, grant us courage as we accept new challenges, and help us to play our part in shaping this community.
We give thanks for the opportunities that lie before us: for the people who help us learn and play, for friendships old and new, and for the support of our families.
Finally, we pray for all of our new families who have chosen to be apart of our
St Patrick’s Community.
We ask all this through Jesus Christ our Lord,
Amen.
God Bless, Mrs Flanagan REC
Swimming Carnival this Thursday 7 February.
Primary students will travel down to the pool by bus at 9 am. Please note that if you are helping at the carnival and are taking your child there with you, you will need to provide a note to the teacher ahead of time as they would otherwise be marked absent on the role.
Infants will arrive at the pool at 11:45 am.
Approximate start time is 9.15 am. Thank you to the helpers who have offered their assistance. A note will go home tomorrow listing your roles. If you can assist on the day please let a Teacher know when you arrive. It would be great to be able to relieve our timekeepers for a break throughout the day. Don't forget there is a pool entry of $2 per person for spectators and students who are non-season ticket holders.
If you are yet to return your lunch order please ensure it is in by tomorrow with payment. This will be your last chance to order.
Swimming ribbons and medals will be handed out at our school assembly on Friday 8 Feb from 2.25 PM
