Dear Parents,
Term 2 concludes this Friday the 5th July. Thank you to everyone, teachers, students and parents who have helped make this such a successful semester of learning. Parent/Teacher meetings have been well attended throughout the week and it is always wonderful to have the opportunity to touch base with parents and set goals for the coming semester. A special thank you to Craig Hargreaves, Kim Paton and Michelle McDonnell for assisting with our parent meetings by providing afternoon tea facilities, ringing the bell, providing supervision for younger family members and welcoming and directing families to classrooms for the meetings. This was very much appreciated by all staff.
Congratulations to our 27 Confirmation candidates who were confirmed in St Patrick’s Church last Sunday. It was a beautiful celebration to acknowledge these young adults accepting the call of the Holy Spirit into their lives. Our thanks to the Parish Liturgy Group for the exceptional preparation and work they put into organising such a wonderful celebration.
Yesterday we held a special farewell for Mrs Francis and Ms Luff. Thank you to our beautiful K/1/2 students for contributing some very special personal and heartfelt messages to our two wonderful Classroom Supports Assistants. We wish Heidi and Kristi all the best in their new endeavours.
I would like to welcome Ms Tash Smith to our St Patrick’s staff team. Tash will be replacing Heidi Luff as our CSA for the next two terms. An announcement on Mrs Francis’ replacement will be made early in Term 3.
We are very excited to announce the return of our Little Learners-Preschool Program to commence next term. Ms Tash Smith will also run this program EVERY Friday from 9.30-11.30am, during Term 3 (except the last week of term). This program is open to all parents of children aged between 0-5 years old. Please spread the word about this exciting opportunity!

Kinder and Year 1 Mass
Very special thanks to Mrs Carberry and K/1 for their week 9 mass.
Confirmation Celebration
The 27 candidates received this special sacrament last Saturday night. We thank Father George for leading us in this occasion. The Parish Liturgy Committee of: Denise Reardon, Anne Saunderson, Kate Howe, Madeline Reardon and Carolyn Reardon prepared the children so beautifully and we thank them for their guidance and organisation. The parents and the children commented on what a special event it was for their families and sponsors. We pray that the children upon receiving this sacrament go forth now using the power of the Holy Spirit to practice their Catholic faith in every aspect of their lives and to witness Christ in every situation.
Mass and Liturgy Times:
Please note next term, Mass will be on Fridays at 12pm every week at the Church. Each class will present a class mass every second week.
Project Compassion: Money Raised
We thank the school community for contributing to such a worthy cause. With your help $122.40 was raised. This money has now been passed onto Caritas who will use this money to continue providing funds around the world to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.

Altar Serving Training
There will be a special training session conducted in Term 3, on Tuesday 13 August for all altar servers with Mrs Wilson and Father George and Namora. This date coincides with the feast day of Saint John Berchmans, patron saint of all altar servers. This will allow for new members from the various schools to nominate and train after receiving the sacrament of First Holy Communion.
Volunteers Needed
The Parish is calling for new members of the community to consider volunteering to go on the reading roster for Saturday night mass. Please leave your name at the school or contact the Parish via their website.
Prayer for the week:
Land of The Holy Spirit
“The Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ speaks all languages. It esteems and embraces all cultures. It supports them in everything human and, when necessary, it purifies them. Always and everywhere the Gospel uplifts and enriches cultures with the revealed message of a loving and merciful God.”
